An Early Educational Program for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers
With Hillyer Early Care and Preschool, you can rest assured that the staff at our preschool near Warren, OH strives to keep up-to-date on the latest teaching techniques and best practices. All of our teachers and staff continuously attend professional development opportunities to gain current knowledge that improves instruction and our quality of childcare near Warren, OH. All staff keep current with health and safety trainings such as First Aide, Infant&Child CPR and Communicable Disease awareness.
Staff members from each age group served
(infants, toddlers, preschoolers) completed a
series of trainings (2015) based on current
research and The Developmentally Appropriate
Practice (DAP) for young children.
Staff had training in Ohio's Healthy Programs to encourage children to develop healthy eating habits and exercising at an early age that will hopefully become a lasting lifestyle.
Teachers have participated in Ohio's Statewide Teacher Leader Literacy Project to improve our knowledge and implement the best strategies for early literacy learning in the preschool classrooms.
In Fall 2011, Hillyer was chosen as 1 out of 10 preschools in Ohio to study with England's Elizabeth Jarmen, a language research specialists who came to the states to share her wealth of knowledge and collect data for her research. Jarmen's Communication Friendly Spaces (www.elizabethjarmenfoundation.org.uk) is focused on early communication and language skills with young children. We were privileged, honored and grateful for the wonderful opportunity.

A program of The Raymond John Wean Foundation that seeks to transform the Valley's current leadership to include meaningful and informed resident participation in decision processes affecting their neighborhoos and communities.
Strengthening Families™ is a research-informed approach to increase family strengths, enhance child development and reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. It is based on engaging families, programs and communities in building five protective factors:
•Knowledge of parenting and child development
•Concrete support in times of need
•Social and emotional competence of children
